Welcome to 2018 & Our First E-Newsletter!

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Students

Welcome back to all our students and families.  I hope you have all enjoyed the holidays and had the opportunity to rest and relax with your children.  Holidays are a great opportunity to reconnect with members of the family, and it is easy to see that the children have enjoyed their break but are also enthusiastic to be back at school, starting the year with a positive attitude.

Term 1 has begun with great energy, passion and excitement on a wonderfully cool Monday!  The teachers are getting to know their students quickly and the children have enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with old friends and making new friends.  There has been a lot of planning and collaboration amongst the teachers before the beginning of the school year, and it’s been fantastic to see their energy and enthusiasm in developing an exciting and engaging curriculum for their students.

I wish to offer a sincere welcome back to school to all families and hope you each enjoyed a safe and happy summer break. For those families new to the OLQP community, I hope you have felt warmly welcomed and that your children have had a positive start to the school term.

As many will know I am employed in the APRIM leadership position permanently. I look forward to continuing my work in this beautiful school environment and invite you to contact me via email at abishop@olqp.catholic.edu.au if there is any way that I may support you or your child(ren).

Parents & Friends Committee

Hi everyone and welcome back to another exciting year.  I hope you all enjoyed your break.

For those who are new to OLQP my name is Jane O'Brien. I have two children at the school, Ella in 6/7SH and Harvey in 5LB. The P&F meetings are held on a Wednesday every 4 to 5 weeks from 7.30pm for approximately an hour.  The P&F raised $10,000 last year for our school and had lots of fun doing it.  If you would like to join our team we would love to have you.  Please feel free to contact me on the details below.

The next upcoming event is Shrove Tuesday on 13 February.  We cook pancakes for the children in the junior primary courtyard from approximately 8am.  We will be requesting donations soon for this event.

The next meeting is on Wednesday 14 February.  I look forward to seeing you soon and having the opportunity to meeting some new parents.
