Play provides all children with the opportunity to learn, experience, investigate and interact with the environment. During play, children create meaning from the world around them. It offers the child experiences to think, plan, create, do and find out. Therefore, play is an important part of learning for the child.
Children learn about the world through stories and play. At Playgroup they participate in a range of movement activities incorporating outdoor play, music and dance that supports sensory development in the early years. The Playgroup programme is based on the Australian Curriculum and the National Early Years Learning framework.
Playgroup at Our Lady Queen of Peace School offers a supportive network for parents and children in a happy, secure and safe environment.
Playgroup is open each Wednesday morning from 9.10 – 10.45 a.m. The cost is a $2 and families are asked to bring a piece of fruit to share with other children.
